Fakir Zulfiqar
Fakir Zulfiqar is a multi-instrumentalist, cultural coordinator, and one of the last living masters of the boreendo—a rare clay wind instrument with roots in Mohenjo Daro. As both a maker and player of the boreendo, he carries forward an ancient sonic tradition that teeters on the edge of extinction. His work preserves not just instruments, but the deep folk wisdom and meditative rhythms embedded in Sindh’s musical heritage.
Zulfiqar has been a central pillar of Lahooti since its inception, sharing his craft and knowledge with new generations through performances, workshops, and recordings. His haunting, earthy sounds have resonated across local stages and international platforms alike, offering audiences a glimpse into the sacred memory of the land.
With every note, Fakir Zulfiqar sustains a lineage of storytelling and spiritual connection—where music is not entertainment, but a form of remembering.
