Faqeha Nadeem

Faqeha Nadeem is a visual artist based in Islamabad whose practice weaves together plein air painting, studio work, and emerging media. Her core process begins outdoors, painting directly from the landscape to capture the light, atmosphere, and subtle presence of place. These works are later developed into more intricate studio pieces that reflect a deeper meditation on the land and its people.

In her recent series focused on the Karoonjhar mountains, Faqeha documents not only the visual poetry of the terrain but also its ecological fragility and endangered cultural landmarks. Her paintings act as quiet interventions—inviting viewers to reflect on the beauty, temporality, and vulnerability of sacred landscapes.

Expanding her practice beyond the canvas, Faqeha has also explored interactive media. In a recent project, she combined field recordings and ambient soundscapes with hand-drawn animations to create an immersive experience. This work marked a shift in her practice—bringing together the sensory textures of place with digital storytelling to evoke memory and connection in new ways.
